PANAMA IS THE LEADING CENTRAL AMERICAN COUNTRY IN THE EASE OF DOING BUSINESS INDEX

Panama with all its facilities, advantages and opportunities is the leading country in Central America in the World Bank’s ease of doing business index as mentioned last week in its Doing Business Report for 2012, ranking Panama as 61 out of 183 countries rating them in 10 areas that include ease of starting a business, trading across borders, getting electricity, resolving insolvency, and getting credit, among others.

Panama holds a substantial lead over the other Central American countries which were ranked as follows: Belize 93; Guatemala 97; El Salvador 112; Nicaragua 118; Costa Rica 121; and Honduras 128.

The worldwide leadership is held by: Singapore 1; Hong Kong 2; New Zealand 3; and the United States 4.
